Chelsea's class is, simply put... unique. She’s never been one to follow trends and she’s always itching to go out on a limb. She loves pushing the boundaries of herself and her students, exploring the human condition, the love and passion we all share. She considers herself an artist first and foremost and encourages her students to find out for themselves what is unique and inspiring about their individuality. Some say leave it at the door but Chelsea insists that you bring it in and let your soul out!
Chelsea is an all-rounder - well versed in tap, jazz, jazz funk, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, theatre, and contemporary. A graduate of the Edge Performing Arts Center Scholarship Program in Los Angeles, she has worked for choreographers such as Tessandra Chavez, Malaya, Joelle Martinec, Sakinah LeStage, Adam Parson, Scott Hislop, Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo and Ryan Heffington to name a few. Some of her credits include The Sing Off (Season 3), Cold Case, Dance Plug, the NAACP awards, O’Spada, Alex Kogan, Heartour, El Capitan Theatre, Disneyland and Christina Grimmie. She has travelled to New Zealand, Sweden and Australia to assist top choreographers and is a member of Commonality Dance Company under the direction of Adam Parson. You can catch her class on Phoenix Dance Convention in New Zealand, at OneDanceEpic In-Studio Workshops all over the U.S., as well as at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. FUN FACTS: 1. Laura loves to smile and tell her students about the dragon locked in the “other” room – but don’t let that scare you. Laura is known to enhance her teachings with dialogue in free-associations, interactive participation, silliness, seriousness, and invariably, captures the mindfulness of her students.
Laura’s industry career spans thirty years in film, television, stage, concert, and festival as dancer, educator, choreographer, and producer of venues that include Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Carmel Arts Festival, SAG Media Awards, St Jude Children’s Hospital, Canada’s Standing Ovation and Showtime. Laura has given master classes throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She is Founding Director of Ignite Dance Workshops nonprofit and Pacific Studios. Laura’s work at the EDGE and the EDGE Scholarship Program fostered three generations of industry talent on Broadway and in film and television. She has toured with LA Danceforce, Tremaine, Industry XPerience, and more. Her work with artists Ryan Heffington, Meagan Lawson, Brian Friedman, Mandy Moore, Michael Rooney, Brooke Lipton, (to name a few) continues to be a source of family-in-art. FUN FACTS: 1. Amanda is back and based in Colorado after spending 11 years teaching and dancing across the United States. She is highly regarded in many different styles of dance. Her specialities of hip hop and tap are highly sought after as both a teacher and choreographer. She has taught at the EDGE performing arts center in Los Angeles and many local studios in the LA area. She has also taught for Hollywood Vibe, Urban Jamm, Tamjams, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop and master classes across the United States and abroad.
She has a passion for not only dancing, but passing her love of dance on to future generations. Her spirit and love of dance is evident in her teaching style. She is currently teaching and training dancers in Longmont, Colorado at Dance Dimensions. FUN FACTS: 1. Amanda loves to go to the movies, play outside and get her hair cut 2. Corey Anderson is an LA based dancer/choreographer. He has worked with J Lo, Mariah Carey, Rick Martin, Christina Aguilara, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgeons, Chayanne, as well as the Super Bowl halftime show with Katy Perry. He has appeared in the movies LaLa land, Burlesque, Hannah Montana the Movie, Bedtime Stories, and many others. He has made appearances in Goliath, Legion, American Horror Story, the real O’Neil’s, my crazy ex-girlfriend, 2 and a half Men, Glee, Dancing with the Stars, Swingtown, Community, and Eli Stone.
FUN FACTS: 1. Corey plays the guitar and enjoys building them as well 2. He bleeds purple because I am such a big Minnesota Vikings fan! 3. His first kiss was by Diana Ross when I was 4!! |
Misty RasconSmith has had the opportunity to work various areas of this competitive industry, including music videos, commercials, television/ live performances, and even print. Some credits include: Natasha Beddingfield, Janelle Monae, Kirk Franklin, Christina Aguilera, LeCrae, Sunkist, Pepsi, Sears, Aerial Experience Productions, and more.
Her ability to instruct all levels and numerous genres of dance has allowed her to instruct for the following: Edge Performing Arts Center, Debbie Reynold’s, Word In Motion’s Urban Dance Festival, and various intensives and master classes across the United States. She currently teaches for Dance Revolution, a well respected faith based dance convention, as well as co-directs Conekt-LA Art Center and the Word In Motion Dance Company. Her various styles of choreography and classes have been described as challenging, yet inspirational. Misty directs, lectures, and mentors - an innovator in all ways and has created her very own style “Tribal Funk”. Since discovering the meaning and purpose of her dancing and choreography, she is devoted to challenging and encouraging others to do the same in both life and dance. She claims that both her husband, Joseph, and son, Tymin, have taught her the importance of giving in all areas whenever possible. FUN FACTS: 1. Misty is convinced that she's not addicted to coffee and that coffee is addicted to her! 2. She does random things just to make herself laugh 3. Loves listening to podcasts 4. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Blake Angier went on to train extensively on scholarship with the Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, California. He has worked with artists such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Ricky Martin, Miley Cyrus as “Hanna Montana” and Latin superstar, Chayanne. You may have seen Blake as a dancer for the Apple Ipod campaign, Old Navy, Cingular Wireless and as a feature on “Bring It On – All or Nothing”. Blake has been a guest choreographer and Master Class teacher for conventions across the USA, Canada, New Zealand and the Congreso Internacional de Danza in Mexico. You may have also seen Blake in the “So You Think You Can Dance” ad campaign. Blake currently owns “Dance Barre”, the largest dance studio in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Blake enjoys working with dancers of all ages, helping to instil the many life lessons that dance has to offer.

Gelsey is a Creative Director for A-Max Entertainment, a professional live entertainment company that provides customized performances for film, premiere events, charity galas, and corporate engagements.
Previously, Gelsey enjoyed a 20-year professional performing career in Los Angeles and New York. During her decade as a Radio City Rockette and spokeswoman, Gelsey appeared on The Today Show, MSNBC, CNN, Oprah, Entertainment Tonight and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Her numerous events for Disney included Princess Diaries, Freaky Friday, Finding Nemo and the 75th Anniversary Celebration with Julie Andrews. She can be seen in feature films including You Again with Kristen Bell, Zombie Prom with Katy Mixon, Starsky and Hutch, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and 500 Days of Summer. Television credits include the MTV Movie Awards, TV Land Awards, Young and the Restless, and Boston Public. Gelsey performed in national commercials and industrials for ABC, Microsoft, 7-Up, Macy’s, Pace Picante Sauce, M&Ms, and ESPN. Gelsey is a scholarship alumna of the Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA. She attended Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University and was the first Dance Major awarded a Hunt Leaders Scholarship. Gelsey co-founded the Dance Ministry at Mosaic LA, was a company member of Word in Motion, and is a certified Pilates teacher. She loves encouraging dancers in multiple styles as a guest teacher and adjudicator. |
